West Africa Gas Pipeline Comes Online

The West Africa Gas Pipeline (WAGP) has begun commercial operations after nearly 30 years in the planning. The ambitious 569km offshore pipeline project will transport up to 4bn cubic metres (bcm) of gas per year from Nigerian fields to power plants in Benin, Togo and Ghana, allowing the receiving countries to reduce their dependence on oil for electricity generation.
