Oxy On Track With Omani Output Expansion

US-based Occidental Petroleum (Oxy) plans to raise its gross crude production in Oman by 50% to 150,000 barrels per day (b/d) in 2012, a company executive told Reuters on April 11. Oxy's steamflooding programme at the Mukhaizna oil field in centre of the country is part of a series of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects that have propped up the Sultanate's oil production in spite of its declining reserves.
