Nigeria To Ramp Up May Crude Exports To 2mn b/d, Say Traders
March 2010 | Industry NewsA Reuters report on 29 March 2010, based on a review of loading schedules and conversations with oil traders, indicates that Nigeria will dramatically scale up crude oil exports from 61 cargoes in April to at least 70 cargoes in May, suggesting May export volumes will reach around 2mn barrels per day (b/d), their highest level since July 2009. The news comes in the wake of the breakdown of the tentative calm between Nigerian rebels and the government following 2009's amnesty, and in the face of growing industry concern over Nigeria's near-term political stability.
