Russia's Gazprom is considering joining three Israeli companies in a bid for an offshore gas exploration drilling tender, according to an article on the Israeli financial website Globes, dated 13 April 2010. Reuters reported that an energy industry source confirmed that a Gazprom representative met Israel's petroleum commissioner to discuss the company's involvement, while also stating that Gazprom was seeking an 'operator' role in any prospective deal.
