BP To Start Deepwater Drilling In Gulf Of Sirte As Oil And Gas Prospects Continue Rising

BP is preparing to drill its first deepwater well since the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon rig explosion and subsequent oil spill in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). A company spokesperson said on July 1 2010 that BP will start drilling a well in Libya's Gulf of Sirte in the coming weeks.
