PKK Attack Shuts Down Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline

The separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on July 3 bombed the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline, shutting down flows through Iraq's only northern export route, according to a Reuters report citing Turkish security officials. The bombing comes after the PKK called off its 14-month ceasefire in June and highlights concerns over the security of Turkey as a reliable transit country, particularly if the PKK steps up attacks.
