Oil 'Discovery' Will Fail To Boost Interest In Upcoming Kashkari Tender

Afghanistan has announced a new 1.8bn barrel (bbl) oil discovery in the northern province of Balkh, following geological surveys. In BMI's view, the announcement was timed to increase interest in the country's oil reserves potential ahead of the imminent retendering of Afghanistan's first exploration block, Kashkari.
