Lukoil Scales Back Empty Quarter Activity As Gas Hopes Unfulfilled

The Luksar joint venture (JV) between Russia's Lukoil and and Saudi Arabia's state-run Saudi Aramco ceded 90% of its 29,900sq km exploration block in the Kingdom's Empty Quarter (Rub al Khali) region in October 2009, according to Aramco's 2009 annual review released on June 15 2010.
