This year Total has expanded its activities in the Far East, acquiring new upstream assets in Australia and China as part of its strategy to diversify its reserves base. The company's exploration budget was increased to US$1.5bn for 2006. Total is aiming for 7% production growth in 2007 and sustained production growth from 2010, driven by a growing base of major projects with long-lived plateaux.
