Australia's Woodside Petroleum has struck a deal with the Western Australian government and approved an investment of AUD1.4bn (US$1.1bn) for the Pluto liquefied natural gas (LNG) project on the Burrup peninsula, which contains an estimated 116bn cubic metres (bcm) of gas.
